The park consists of a sand dune complex and numerous small lakes and wetlands. A tiny caribou crew wanders these woods, and the skies fill with great blue herons and sandhill cranes settling in to nest. If you want to camp, it’s pure backcountry—no sites, no amenities, no fuss. Just pick your spot and settle in; no permits, no fees, no gatekeeper. The park is about 24 thousand acress or 10 x 10 km sq. Photo by Brandice Laing Primeau
